Niko nije mogao ni da pretpostavi da će devojčica po imenu Megan Markl, iz skromne kućice sa dve spavaće sobe iza holivudskog bulevara, postati jednog dana britanska princeza i živeti u Kensingtonskoj palati u Londonu, piše Lepa & Srećna.

U Ulicu Vista Del Mar Megan Markl se doselila 1991. godine kako bi živela sa svojim ocem Tomasom i pohađala školu u blizini.

Do tada je živela sa majkom Dorijom, budući da su joj se roditelji razveli 1983. godine.

Zahvaljući uspehu na televiziji, a zatim i planetarnoj slavi koju je doživela udajom za britanskog princa Harija, Megan Markl danas privlači pažnju svakim svojim potezom.

A commercial for Ivory Dishwashing Liquid really bothered Meghan because it used the word "her." The sequence came after Meghan wrote a letter to the soap manufacturer. The company changed the commercial. What Meghan did landed her on the cable show ‘Nick News’ on cable network Nickleodeon in 1993 and was unearthed recently by US programme Inside Edition.Markle is seen on Nick News while she and her classmates were watching a television commercial for Ivory dishwasher soap.The narrator in the commercial declares that the soap is handy because “women all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans.”A young Meghan was unhappy with the wording of the commercial, especially after two boys in her class said that it confirmed the stereotype of women belonging in the kitchen.In 2015, Markle recalled the incident during a speech at the United Nations to mark International Women's Day.She recalled:” I remember feeling shocked and angry and also just feeling so hurt.“It just wasn't right and something needed to be done.”She said her father inspired her to bring about change.by encouraging her to write letters to the most powerful people she could think of.Young Meghan sent a letter to the soap maker, Proctor & Gamble as well as to famed civil rights lawyer Gloria Allred, then-first lady Hillary Clinton, and Nick News anchor Linda Ellerbee.After Ellerbee received the letter, she and a camera crew from her show went to meet Markle.Proctor & Gamble also responded by changing the wording of the commercial from “women” to “people.”The revised commercial said:” People all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans.”Meghan told Nick News in the 1993 footage:” I don't think it is right for kids to grow up thinking that mom does everything.'”f you see something that you don't like or offended by on television or any other place, write letters and send them to the right people and you can really make a difference, not just for yourself but for lots of other people.'Inside Edition obtained the footage from Ellerbee, who said she wasn't surprised by the stature that Markle would go on to attain.Ellerbee said:” Itt was absolutely clear that this young woman was strong in her beliefs.“It didn't matter that she was 11 years old. “She believed in women and she believed in her own power and wasn't afraid to reach out and say, ‘I want my power.
